Experience Web Design & Marketing

Initially self-taught, I started my work in web design with DHTT Ltd. After a few months I was given the additional responsibilities of marketing and creating Web traffic. I was able effectively and efficiently increase web traffic substantially, driving sales and revenue.

I decided I needed to receive a formal education and attended the Information Technology Institute in Toronto. I received my Applied Information Technology diploma in 2003. At ITI I learned Visual Basic, Database Integration, Java and Java Script.

I can code strait HTML but prefer to use the dynamic environment of Dreamweaver. I have set up several Wordpress sites and am familiar as well as other Content Management Systems. As well I can create and integrate a custom theme using Artisteer. My approach is as simple a site as possible, utilizing minimal appearance and the three click rule. The three-click rule states that web content should be no more than three mouse clicks away. Some of my experiences include consultations on usability. This helps clients reach their target audience within their mandate. Social media such as Twitter and Facebook are other tools I use to help reach target audience, and will become increasingly more important with time.

I am also familiar with image manipulation software such as Photoshop and Fireworks and can work with existing images to change or enhance them.
